DIY bon-bons are a fabulous way to personalise the Christmas table. You can fill them with specific goodies and messages for each of your friends or fill them with fun little random trinkets. Including your own bad jokes is totally your call. They’re a special addition to Christmas at your place or if you’ve been invited as a guest, they’re a fun alternative to bringing “a plate of something’. And want to know the best news? They’re pretty easy to make.

• What you will need

  • Cracker ‘bangers’ (available from haberdashery stores like Spotlight or Lincraft )
  • Empty toilet paper rolls (might need to save up for a few weeks!)
  • Small goodies – stock up at your nearest $2 shop
  • Christmas wrapping paper (thicker the better)
  • Ribbons to tie off the ends
  • Scissors
  • Double-sided tape
• Place a banger through each roll and add in the goodie, cut your paper so it wraps nicely around each roll and leave about 4-5 cm on each end to cover the banger. Stick the paper down with double-sided tape. Twist each end and tie with ribbon to keep it secure.
