It’s a tacky catchphrase but one that we all know well. And come Australia Day and Anzac Day, there are always plenty of people shouting it out! Yes, these two public holidays are special days to celebrate being Australian.
-
Here are some simple and fun suggestions to get in the Aussie spirit and celebrate our heritage:
- On Anzac Day, get up at sparrows and attend a Dawn Service - they’re held all around the country, from cities to country towns.
- Strike up a game of backyard cricket with some mates - get one team to wear green t-shirts, and the other gold.
- Host a typical Aussie barbeque - guests can bring their own meat and you supply some salads.
- Hit the beach for a day of family fun - don’t forget the thongs, esky and zinc for your nose!
- On Anzac Day, head to your local pub or RSL to play a game of two-up.
